Several new characters were introduced including the cybernetic ninjas Cyrax and Sektor, the maimed warrior Kabal, the female Shokan Sheeva (a Distaff Counterpart to Goro), Badass Native Nightwolf, off-duty cop Kurtis Stryker, evil robo- centaur Motaro, and Kitana's resurrected mother Sindel.
